Review - Beringer Smooth Red Blend

Name: Beringer Smooth Red Blend
Variety: Blend of  Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Petite Sirah
Region: California
Country: United States
Year: 2012
Price: $15.00

Wine Shop Review: A blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petite Sirah. Without a doubt, very smooth and uniquely balanced. Not too dry but not too sweet. Has a foundation of raspberry and blackberry that lingers in the finish. A slight hint at vanilla and some spice when it touches your tongue.

Personal Review: I noticed a distinct rubbery aroma that was accented with fresh tree fruit. My initial impression of the wine was that of a dried almond, oaky flavor. The mid pallet led me to pick up the apricotty flavors that I noticed while smelling the wine. Overall, the Smooth Red Blend by Beringer had a complex pallet that was full of rich, earthy, tree fruity flavors. The complexity of the pallet is not a surprise considering it is a blended wine.

Note: I did not consume this wine with food.
